Through the Night

Warning: shameless plug coming. There is a new song out that I highly encourage you to go listen to Through the Night. It is about someone struggling in life who cries out to God. The chorus is God’s response. And yes, my son is the artist.

The chorus begins: I can see the pain in your eyes, the remains of the tears you’ve cried, the weight you carry inside, like you’ve been running your whole life. I can see it all in your eyes…

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV)

Often when I am at my lowest, it is hard to lean on God. I become so busy wallowing in my sorrow that I forget the promise of strength when I have nothing left. The chorus, in particular, brings me comfort and reminds me that God is always with me even if I don’t acknowledge the presence. Do you doubt it? Give a listen.

How do you get through the night? Share your experience here and breathe life and bring hope to others.
