Speak up

Speak Up

Speak up

Speak up. Tell your story. Let others know what you have learned. Prevent the suffering of others. Bring healing. It all seems so simple, yet I struggle and so does our auto dealership.

The goal was simple. Drive our well used 2012 rogue out to Jackson in Seattle for him to use to get through grad school. Curt changed the oil and cleaned out the fan to make sure it was road ready. Suddenly, the vehicle wouldn’t start and we were set to depart in four days.

The key system was completely locked up. We couldn’t lock doors let alone get it to start. We thought the key needed to be reprogrammed and had a locksmith come out the next morning. The key was fine. The remote start system needed to be completely removed for the car to start.

The dealer was able to fix it the following day, so we had it towed in. Departure date is now two days away. The dealer didn’t have it finished until 5:00 the following evening 13 hours from departure. I left the dealership and headed to the gas station. When I went to leave the gas station it wouldn’t start. My stress level at this point was through the roof. Maybe God was trying to tell us not to go. I called the dealership to which they said, “Oh the battery is dead. We had to recharge it.” To which I responded, “You didn’t want to tell me that before I left?”

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. “For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. 27 He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.” (Daniel 6:26-27 NIV)

This experience has served as a powerful reminder to speak up. God has rescued me and performed miracles in my life and I often struggle to share my story. I hold back. I don’t want to be intrusive. How often have I missed an opportunity to share about the One who saves? I don’t want to leave someone helpless and abandoned at a gas station.

Do you speak up? Do you testify to the goodness of God? Share your experience here and breathe life and bring hope to others.
