A New Year Reflection

A New Year Reflection

I always take time for a New Year reflection. I find value in pausing, evaluating, and challenging myself for the new year. It is not about resolutions, or setting lofty goals I will never accomplish. It’s about finding one thing that moves me closer to the person I am called to be.

Here are a few scriptures I am using for that reflection this year.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2 NIV).

And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV).

3-Jesus reached out and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be clean.” Then and there, all signs of the leprosy were gone. Jesus said, “Don’t talk about this all over town. Just quietly present your healed body to the priest, along with the appropriate expressions of thanks to God. Your cleansed and grateful life, not your words, will bear witness to what I have done.” (Matthew 8:3-4 MSG).

God has done so much to transform my life. I want to lean into being a full reflection of that transformation. I’m trusting God will show me what is next on this journey as I want to live it as much as I have experienced it. Forget resolutions and join me on a journey of transformation and find greater love, grace and mercy for yourself and others.

Do you set New Year’s resolutions? Are you willing to reflect and begin a journey? Share your experience here and breathe life and bring hope to others.
