Consistency-500 Posts

Consistency-500 posts!! That’s right you are reading the 500th post to this blog. I can hardly believe it. It has happened through consistency, faith and gratitude.

We hiked at Mt. Rainier National Park this summer. It was spectacular. As we hiked and took in the beauty around us, it was clear to me that consistency in my exercise practices played a big part in successfully completing the six miles. In the last couple of years, I have increased my commitment to exercise from four times a week to 5-6. It has dramatically improved my overall fitness, as well as, my emotional wellbeing. I like me again and am able to enjoy life the way that feeds me, hiking in the mountains.

It is consistency that has kept this blog going. I don’t think of myself as a disciplined person, but when it comes to exercise and writing, I guess I am. When God started to nudge me to do this, I resisted. I continued to pray and resist. I finally decided to jump in and start writing fearing I would run out of things to say. I committed to once a week. Every Monday for the last 500 Mondays a post has appeared.

58 With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort. (1 Corinthians 15:58 MSG)

It still amazes me that I haven’t run out of things to say. And, I am very aware that it is not because of me. God faithfully brings ”ahas” just when I need them. Sometimes it is the Sunday night before the post goes out, but more often now we are able to have a couple of weeks planned out. I appreciate the wiggle room and am thankful every time the next post comes together. It is really a tribute to God’s faithfulness not mine. Yes, I am doing my part but only because of who God is and what He has done in my life. Consistency-500 posts!!
