Trust Me

metal-number-2I’m 2. Okay the blog is 2. When I started posting my thoughts, I did it with reluctance and doubt. How was I going to have something to say every week? I didn’t think it was possible. It’s true that some weeks have been harder than others, but it has gotten easier and easier. The reason is simple and it’s not that I’m a better writer. It’s TRUST.

This morning I read my daily devotion from Jesus Calling by Sara Young. It’s a short message that is intended to be read as if Jesus is talking to you. Today’s message hit me hard. It has been so true for me and serves as a continual reminder to trust Him more.

Strive to trust me in more and more areas of your life. Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity. Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties. (p 23.)

It took me a year and a half to trust God and start blogging. I was definitely anxious about it. The commitment seemed so huge and overwhelming that I kept saying no to the nudges. This was an opportunity for growth that I would shrug off as too hard. The nudges didn’t stop until  finally, two years ago, I finally started. God has faithfully given me something to write every week. There have many blessings within the difficulties. This scripture has been proven true in my life.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a] (Proverbs 3 NIV.)

 Absolutely, there have been difficulties including weeks where I felt like I was grasping at straws for something to write. (Long pause – as I grasp at straws for how to finish :0) The more I submit to Him and trust Him to provide the words the more fun this has become. I will admit I started this with a sense of fear and obligation. Now it is fun.

It is fun to set aside time for me and God to talk about what the post is going to be about. Evey Week my faith gets strengthened and reinforced as this scripture above from Proverbs continues to hold true. Doing things my way has always been bumpier and sometimes unsuccessful. God’s ways always work out and end up wondering why I worried about it.

How about you? Are you trusting God with all your heart? Are you submitting to him? What are your stumbling blocks? Turn something over to Him today. That something that He is nudging you about-take one baby step today. He will make your paths straight. Trust Him.

Share how you are learning to trust and we can encourage each other.
